Gearboxes for wind turbines, components for efficient motors, innovative machines with digital controls – products like these that bear the “Made in Germany” seal are also manufactured in this region. For this, companies in the metal and electrical industries need skilled workers, whom they train themselves. “Anyone who wants to be part of ‘Made in Germany’ can find out about technical apprenticeships in our InfoTruck and about the opportunities in the companies themselves,” says Jürgen Paschold, association engineer at the Unternehmerverband, addressing school students in career orientation.

The employers’ organisation is once again sending the InfoTruck to companies in its region; in the high-tech vehicle, visitors can also try out typical activities in the industry, such as computer-controlled milling or wiring electrical connections. In total, the Unternehmerverband is giving 112 local school students the opportunity to get to know careers in the metal and electrical industries in a practical way on site.
