How do canted coil springs work?

The canted coil spring functions via an elastically prestressed wire structure that compresses axially during insertion, thereby generating a defined, uniform contact force . The ring- or oval-shaped geometry guarantees a maximum number of contact points and uniform force application around the contact area. The result is a stable electrical connection with high current-carrying capacity – even with customer-specific mating cycles or under dynamic loads.
